Family Storytime at Putterham

Join children’s librarian Carrie for stories, songs, movement, and other fun ways of building early literacy skills! Ideal for children ages 0-5 and their grownups. Storytime will take place between 10:30-11AM and playtime will take place between 11:00-11:30AM. No registration required.

Bridging Hearts Across Generations - Putterham Meeting Room

A welcoming community gathering for grandparents, parents, and allies who care about nurturing meaningful relationships across generations for the benefits of families and communities. Together, we explore ways to strengthen those connections through respectful dialogue, shared experiences, thoughtful reflection, and practical approaches that can help re-ignite or maintain family bonds. This is a non-clinical, peer-based gathering that encourages conversation, mutual learning, and understanding rather than therapy or formal support work.

Memory Cafe with the Council on Aging

This free monthly Cafe at the Putterham Library, taking place every second Tuesday of the month from 1 to 2 PM, is for people with memory challenges and their care partners to connect with their peers. Both participate in socialization and can partake in refreshments and a variety of enjoyable programming in order to gain support and engage with others in a relaxing environment. Either party can attend by themselves, but a care partner must accompany those who require any care assistance. This program is co-sponsored by the Brookline Senior Center, Minute Women Home Care, and the Putterham Library. Please register at 617-730-2770. If you need transportation from the Senior Center to the Library, please notify at registration. This program is brought to you by our colleagues from the Town of Brookline's Council on Aging.

Ezekiel's Wheels Klezmer Band Concert

Join us in celebrating the Jewish High Holidays season with an amazing concert featuring the locally-based Ezekiel's Wheels Klezmer Band. All ages are welcome! About the performers: Internationally-acclaimed  Ezekiel’s Wheels Klezmer Band  brings passion, virtuosity, and contagious energy to every performance. The Wheels improvise with the intimacy of chamber music and the intensity of a rowdy dance band. Their engaging contemporary interpretation of Jewish music is irresistible to audiences ranging from elementary school students to the judges at the International Jewish Music Festival, who heralded them as “a true musical democracy.” Click here to see more information about this group on their website.
